Banking

When you're in business, your bank is your best friend. You can withdraw money from a bank, make online payments, monitor transactions, get credit, and more.

First, get a debit card, which is also a VISA, and become a customer at a bank with an ATM near you. This way, you can withdraw money, pay your electricity and other bills, and purchase online whenever you want.

Word Processor

To write documents, you need a word processor. These programs are often in the cloud, and the documents are stored there so you can access them anywhere and not worry about your drive failing.

Communication

You need to communicate with your customers. There are several ways to do that, with a contact form on your website, an email address, Facebook, a cell phone and landline number, and more.

Invoices and billable hours

Once we've completed a product or provided a service to a customer, we need to issue an invoice. We also need a way to calculate billable hours.

To calculate the billable hours for a project and its tasks, you can use a tool like TeamWork.

Additionally, you can sign up for a business account with PayPal to issue invoices.

That's it for now, my friends! See you in the next post!

Organization

We must keep things in order, plan our activities and complete tasks to complete our work. Otherwise, everything collapses under our feet and we end up stressed, sad and broke.

For scheduling your business and documents, I recommend Mindmeister. For a good calendar, I recommend Google Calendar. And finally, for project management, I recommend Asana.

That's it for now, my friends! See you in the next post!

Finance

We've income and expenses. We must practice financial management and plan our finances, so we don't go bankrupt.

There are two types of finances we should consider. The household and business expenses and our business's gross and net income.

To calculate this, you can grab a piece of paper and a pen and write down your calculations. Or you can keep track by using an app.

A good and free app I can recommend is Bluecoins. It makes it easy and shows you your earnings and some fun graphs.

Revenue sources

There are three main ways to make money with an online business. Advertisements, donations, and sales.

If you publish creative content on your website (such as a blog), you can sign a contract with an advertising agency and place ads on your site. Then you get paid by the number of page views or the time the visitor spends on your site.

Donations are another matter. You set up donations on your site and if the visitor likes your content, they may decide to pay you some money. If you've a lot of visitors, some may choose to donate.

Marketing and advertising

To make sales, you need to advertise your products and services.
Nowadays, there are two main ways you can do that. Through social media or advertising, people will hear about you and what you've to offer. And if it's good enough, people will spread the word and, even more, learn about your business.

Intellectual property

Intellectual property refers to intangible property such as trademarks and copyrights.

Trademarks are words, logos, etc., people recognize and identify your business. The idea behind a trademark is that you don't want anyone doing business with your brand, as this could confuse people and draw customers away from your company.

Cybersecurity

With the advent of the Internet and its widespread use in everyday business, cybersecurity must protect your business from hackers or other malicious individuals.

You need an antivirus program and an anti-malware program on your PC and smartphone. These will protect you from viruses, malware, ransomware, and much more! Antivirus programs are usually free, but anti-malware programs cost a small fee. I recommend Avira as an antivirus program and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as anti-malware software.
